When I walked to the supermarket today, I saw this huge crane in front of the plot where the little bungalow used to be. 

I didn’t go closer to take more pictures, because there were at least five men working on the building site, and they might have wondered about my intentions. But when I walked past, all my earlier suspicions were confirmed: the new house will have more than double the footprint and three times the height of the old one, and virtually nothing is left of the garden.
