Sweet Caviar

After visiting my mother, delivering groceries and sharing lunch and coffee (iced coffee today, due to the heat), I saw a cherry stall next to the road on my way home.

All the other cherry stalls have closed already, as the harvest was quite poor (after late frosts killed part of the blossom, and plenty of rain spoiled some of the ripening fruit). But this one farmer still had a few crates of cherries left.

They are really expensive this year, almost double the usual price. But I still bought a last kilo of cherries, to enjoy the taste of summer for a few more days.
