A fractured sleep with the poorly puppy. Up at to check, then out at 4.30 as he finally roused himself enough to venture outside.
He dozed as did I on and off til 7 and then the lure of tea won out.
And so began a slow day, mostly. Loki perked up around 8 and slowly came round and by mid morning was bounding around as if nothing had happened.
I eventually did the boys lunch and set about repatriating the dog by way of Inverleith Park and Dundas St.
Tea, then off to Haymarket to meet the boys for matchday 3 of the new season. Alloa v Binos at the Indoor Indodrill.
After chips and a slightly dodgy circumventing of Scotrail's ridiculous peak travel policy, we rolled up at the game as it kicked off.
Alloa are faster and more mobile than League 2 teams, but after a fraught first 10, the team adjusted and steadied the ship. Also, we fielded an 'experimental ' line up so that didn't help either.
2nd half and Alloa took the lead on the hour; not sure what happened but we got two players booked for remonstrating with the ref. (You know its bad when both sets of fans leave the ground and they're both bitching about the man in black purple.)
On came the 1st choice front line and we duly equalised with a messy header from Pabs looped into the net. It looked to heading for a draw when the ref awarded us a penalty for a challenge outside the box in the 2nd last minute.
Step forward Dale Carrick and he smacked the ball home. First time I've seen a win at Alloa ...this century?
A sprint for the train, a quick change at Stirling and a late bus home from the West End.
