Sunrise/Sunset

It's still hot but the sky has been interesting. The top picture is the sun lighting up the edges of the clouds. It wasn't exactly sunrise as I managed to sleep late this morning and took this picture out of the bedroom window when I got up. I took the sunset last night at about 9pm as I was going to bed...early, I know, but I was really tired.

My patient had a visit to the 'Doc' this morning to check the abrasion on his cornea. He is on track in his recovery and as long as we can keep an eye on him, can have his cone off....alleluia! He is much calmer without it and doesn't run around the house around bashing it into everything, including our legs. Doesn't seem inclined to paw at his eyes, and I was able to cut the rats out of his ears where the eye drops ran into them and congealed. Therefore we are much calmer too. His next recheck isn't for two weeks which is a blessing, because every visit is in addition to the surgery and the total is eye-watering (so to speak). The meds continue but we're tapering off on the prednisone which also makes him a lot calmer.

The rest of the visit I spent talking with the doc about knee replacements...human, not doggy ones. She said this surgery was like a knee replacement in that the surgery part is easy compared to the recovery. 'Tell me about it' I muttered. I'm still trying to figure out how old she is and this is another piece of the puzzle because she has had a knee replacement but I don't know when. She has diplomas on the wall, I must look for a date on them next time.

I made a couple of pillow cases this afternoon from a sheet I am retiring because it doesn't fit. There was more beeping and digging going on at the bottom of Bart and Renee's driveway. No idea why since there was already much digging and beeping there when the electricity was installed in the house.

Spike barely moves all night but John and I could both use a good night's sleep!
