A dry sunny day was forecast . . . they are rare at the moment. Part of me said I should go out for a drive then a good walk and the other part was saying there were outside jobs that needed doing while it was dry. The jobs won.

After lunch I went to the tip with surplus gritty soil then drove to Grasmere. A wander around the village via the riverside footpath and home again. Later I walked down the hill for milk so that made my walking distance for the day a more respectable figure.
