Nesting Turkey

A lovely warm day, mostly sunny, with a cloudy evening.  There was signs of rain, but I never actually saw any showers.

A fine lazy Sunday morning, finally got out walkies with Sammy.  Picked up friend Julie in the afternoon, and we headed to the Sunday Teas at the North Nesting Hall.  A walk with the dogs after the Teas.  A fine quiet evening at home, more walkies and then off to bed early.

A fine afternoon walk with the dogs, suddenly a strange noise stopped us all I'm our tracks, the gobble of turkeys.  Turkeys aren't common birds in Shetland, but a few folk do keep them.  I've only ever seen black turkeys here, this brown ones are a first. The colours are pretty, but that's really it as far as looks go.  There was this male, three large females and half a dozen chicks.  Taken at Housabister, North Nesting.
