Todays adventure

We went out this morning to climb a mountain and see a waterfall.

Bell Mountain is near Hiawasee, Georgia and after a steep drive up the high and an even steeper short walk we got to the observation deck area. So disappointed at the amount of spray painted graffiti on every rock in the area and most boards and railings if the observation deck. But the view of Lake Chatuge and the surrounding mountains was great.

It was hot! So glad the walk was short and downhill was easier!


Then we went to find Anna Ruby Falls near Helen. A quarter mile hike in a beautiful forest along the creek. The waterfall was split in two streams of water from high over our head.

Then we had a German lunch of bratwurst and sauerkraut at a restaurant along the water in Helen. We were so happy to see a sweet dog getting his own float trip on the river.

Storm clouds formed as we drove back to the house but luckily we did not get in this dark cloud.

Now we are settled in with a gentle rain falling. Love visiting the mountains.

We also saw a black bear! Made the day just perfect. Except for the heat!
