Essex Skipper

A home-based day, with spells of warm sunshine that brought out all the garden invertebrates. Most were the usual suspects, but this Essex Skipper is a new record - thankfully I managed one shot showing the black tip of its antennae, which look like they've been dipped in ink.

In the evening we all met up with Ben and Sarah at the Tap and Tandoor to celebrate his birthday (a couple of days late as they'd been on holiday in Devon on the actual day). The food and service were excellent and the bill was surprisingly cheap - we'll definitely be returning. We then headed to another nearby pub and sat out on their roof terrace watching the world go by - a really lovely evening out...
