Whiskers from The Eagle Creek Fire of 2017
We had a mishap on the way home and decided to get off the busy and fast Highway 84 to drive the rest of the way on the slow, but still busy, old historic route, through the Columbia Gorge.
We'd gone up to Joy's to get a load of firewood; It was a beautiful drive, had a good visit with her, and a vigorous time cutting wood and loading it into the pickup. It felt really good to get a good workout in the woods.
But, on the way home, we got a right good scare followed by a workout of an entirely different sort: putting on the spare tire after having a loud blowout. The left rear tire blew with a bang, but Eric didn't lose control of the truck. We slapped along the narrow shoulder with semis and cars zipping along way too close for comfort until reaching a place where we could pull off the road. See Extra.
