Leaving Haworth

Our Czech friends have not been on a steam train before so today we rode the train from Keighley to Haworth.  I think Tomas was the most excited!

Once in Haworth we slowly made our way up the cobbled hill at two year old pace and arrived at Cobbles and Clay for lunch a few moments before our booking time.  This was intended to be a real treat as we took Tomas and Marketa there on their last visit and they remembered it fondly.  Unfortunately, the fish fingers in our sandwiches were pretty much burnt to a crisp, Tony's worse than ours.  Tony's went back and an extra pot of fries appeared with his properly cooked meal.  We were disappointed as I would have expected the manager to address the issue, but it was left up to the young waitress to sort and she was obviously out of her depth.  It has soured our enjoyment of going there.

Outside the sun was still shining so we walked up through the village until Rozalie fell asleep in the stroller and then we could retrace our steps and do a bit of shopping whilst one of us looked after Rozalie as we walked back to the bottom of the hill.  One more day with our friends and then they will be on their way home at the weekend.

Enjoy Tryfan!
