A taste of culture

What do you do with an ageing population? Well, we have just come back from seeing the Japanese film,
Plan 75,. They have come up with a chilling and novel dystopian solution.
Those over 75 are offered £1,000 to spend as they wish provided they sign a document agreeing on a day of their own choosing to be euthanized.
They have the option to opt out at any time. But few do because of social pressure.
The government are so pleased with this solution to their ageing problem that they consider lowering the age to 65.
The film is beautifully shot and far from advocating euthanasia as the solution to our elderly population it makes us question our values in society. Who do we value? and why.
