It’s that time of summer

the only time of the year I like monbrecia.

A warm sunny day after a wet start, we, John*, spent some time on the phone this afternoon wheeling and dealing, although I’m not sure what wheeling is and there was certainly no dealing, ‘that’s the price mate’ although the young man didn’t say it in the gruff voice I imagined when writing this.

We have spent months discussing what to do with the veranda over looking the garden. It needs upgrading or replacing, we, again John, has gone for replacing. The boards should arrive on Monday. And a can of paint for outside the building. The original paint was discontinued, again do we change the colour, noooo, or try to match it using the computer system in the building merchants. That’s the decision, a match was found and a can of paint ordered. This is a summary of a number of emails, a visit and phone chats.

*I stand near by to help along the conversation, drives John mad.
