Peering through the mists..

Yesterday we travelled up towards the top of Cape Breton.  It was a day of mists and rain and although not perfect for our holiday was what was needed to make sure the fires that had raged a month ago were well and truely out.   Sat nav is not used so readily here it seems so my trusty tablet has been doing the job for us with occasional 'black out 'spots.  We had one ferry cancelled so had to back track but we arrived at our hotel in good time and spirits.   The hotel we are staying in is something of a tourist attraction it seems, built in Edwardian times it is all long corridors and massive rooms, heaven knows how they keep it warm in winter.  It's built on a promontory with sea either side so gets the full blast of the weather.

The extra is another 'animal sign we noticed when we set off for a walk yesterday afternoon.
