Advance Notice

Notice for Passengers. Departing Granton middle pier 17th inst, the sailing vessel Rascallion. Expectations are that berths will be in great demand for a voyage along the southern reaches of the great waterway of the Forth to the ancient isle of Lindisfarne. The Skipper and owner is a greatly experienced mariner and will be accompanied by the esteemed Dr Buchanan whose own expertise and observations in matters of natural history will undoubtedly be a source of great delight to his fellow passengers. 
On day one, the vessel shall anchor at the sound fastness that is Fidra, reputedly the inspiration for RL Stevenson’s Treasure Island, where there will be the opportunity to travel ashore and view the acclaimed lighthouse designed by his namesake and distant cousin. 
On day second the vessel will make way past the renowned gannet colony of the Bass Rock, rising sheer from the seas, as well as countless antiquities on the shoreline, chief amongst them being foreboding Tantallon Castle, before finding a secure haven at the harbour at Berwick, a most handsome town.
Day three will conclude the journey at the celebrated Holy Isle of Lindisfarne where passengers may alight and follow in the footsteps of Saints Aidan, Cuthbert, Eadfrith, and Eadberht. The return voyage will additionally entail a visit to the venerable port of Dunbar, where the vessel shall moor neath the castle ramparts which in unhappier times played a part in the tragedy of Mary, Queen of Scots. 
Working passages are still available as cook, and mariner (ancient, preferably).
