Whirlybird

I've grown Whirlybird nasturtiums for well over twenty years I think, since they were recommended somewhere in the 1990s. They are notable for having flower heads held well up above the leaves, and are very easy to grow. Often, I save seed, though this year I started again with a new packet. I've planted them around J's sunflowers, for ground level colour and interest, and we eat both flowers and leaves in salads - they are pleasantly peppery without being overwhelming.

I've just added some information relating to yesterday's "Signs" collage, and back-blipped Sunday's photo, if you want to see any of it.
