Barrow Common
I was watching TV last night and noticed the skies were getting very heavy with rain on its way, but then I realised the sun was about to set. I grabbed my camera and ran across to the Staithe where I took some photos of the sunset, see extra. The clouds were very ominous but some lovely colour broke through them. Unfortunately it was low tide so there was more sand than water in the scene.
I was woken up very early this morning with thunder, we had no rain last night but did have some this morning. By the time I got up it had stopped raining and the sun was out, but it was a very blustery day. We packed up and stripped the bed to wash the bedding. While that was washing and drying we went for a walk with Xena up to Barrow Common which is on the hill behind the house. I use the term hill very loosely as Norfolk is very flat but it is an incline all the way to the top of the common. This was the view from the common, I liked all the wild flowers in the foreground. In extras is a field that the farmer was irrigating (Norfolk is on of the driest counties in the UK) but I did not know what it was, although I liked the purple flowers.
We had a long walk and by the time we got back it was nearly lunch time so we went via The Crab Shack to get some mixed seafood pots for lunch. After lunch we packed the car and had an easy journey home.
It was good to see Tommy at home, he has been holding the fort in our absence and everything was clean and tidy!
