AA Box 487

From their hay day before mobile phones, there were thousands of these all over the country . A refuge for stranded motorists and AA road patrols. Today there are only about 18 left ,  8 are grade 2 listed but none of them work as originally intended.

A list of the 19 boxes existing in 2020 follows for anyone interested.    I believe one of these has since disappeared so there are only 18 now. . Maybe someone on Blip will know which one has gone.  Quite a few are in museums.  The Blip is of the one in Grasmere Cumbria.
