A Choice To Be Kind Everyday, Folkestone

After a more busy week than usual (gallery photography properly kicked in again) I decided to book today off, especially as next week my paintings photography colleague is on holiday so I will not be allowed any time off. Therefore, me and my brother decided on another day out to the seaside, this time to see Folkestone in it's summer garb.
The journey down wasn't too bad, although we did get lost for a brief period around the village of Bridge. However, a quick look at Google Maps on my phone and we were back in the right direction. When we arrived in the town itself we headed straight for the Harbour Arm car park which, unlike may seaside resorts, is more than ample enough in size to cope with the big increase in summer visitors. By this time we were gasping for a cold pint due to the heat so started to head up the steep St.Michael's Street towards the Pullman pub for a lovely cold pint. It was here I took today's main image - he walked into the frame and everything came together for the shot.
While we were in the pub garden supping our delicious beer a giant seagull came down and brazenly stole some bread off a diner's plate! She was shocked but also found it very funny. The first extra (taken on the harbour arm) sort of symbolised this surreal moment for me. The second extra sums up how everything is going in this country at the moment - we seem to heading back to the 1970s - rampant inflation and endless strikes (particularly on public transport).
After our cooling drink we walked back to the harbour arm for some lunch. We decided to try the outdoor food court and settled on pizza. We were given a pager and were told that it would vibrate when our food was ready. After twenty minutes there was no sign of it so I went up and asked if it was ready. I was given short shrift with a blunt answer. Five minute later vibration finally occurred and, luckily, the pizza was worth the wait. As I was putting the paper plate in the bin I thought it only right to practise the title of my blip and say to the poor, stressed, and very young pizza maker how much we had enjoyed it. Poor lad looked hot, bothered and barely twenty if he was a day!
The other extras were all taken on the harbour arm. We had a glorious day with glorious weather and really enjoyed ourselves.
