I’m hungry

Wow, what a hot day , too hot at over 27 degrees. Mike did do some more to the decking/steps area but had to come in as he was so hot.
The forecast so right so I made the most of the cooler morning air and was outside at just gone 5,30an. Watered the pots and hanging baskets and deadheaded the petunias. I’m not usually a fan of Petunias but they are looking good this year.
The birds still need feeding so I filled up the feeders and put fresh water in the water bath and then sat back to see who would arrive.
Managed to capture the young goldfinch being fed in the cherry tree.
I won’t be getting many cherries though as the bluetits have started eating them already. The blackbirds are enjoying some of the strawberries too.
When it warmed up I went inside and watched the Shearing event from Dalscone. Cammy from The Sheep game was doing the shearing, he’s a real character and very funny. Farmer Ben came up with the idea of selling the fleeces to the customers/ fans and set up a fund raising page to raise money for Help the Heroes. £5000 was raised, such a great idea seeing as they get so little for the wool if they sell it to the British wool .
Started raining in the evening but still really hot.
