July 8

A long day, lots of driving, but I was the passenger instead of the driver. The camera club had a trip to Sherbrook Village planned for today. It's about a 2.5 hour drive each way. It ended up there were 3 of us that went, the 4th one dropped out at the last minute.
We left at 8 am and took the highway to Truro and across to New Glasgow. Then it was cross country on a secondary road to Sherbrook. Lots of woods and some scenery, but we didn't stop for photos.
We spent a few hours wandering around the village, looking at the displays. Lunch was at the tea room that they have on site. A sawmill is part of the museum site, but you have to drive down the road for a few minutes to get to it.
Instead of going back the way we had come, we followed the coast to return to Dartmouth. I had been as far as Sheet Harbour on that road, but had never been beyond there. H asked K if he wanted to stop at a couple of places for photos. I didn't say anything the first time, but the second time, I spoke up and said I would like to stop, There were some abandoned boats there and I have seen photos of them before so wanted to try for my version.
Perhaps I will plan a trip thru there in October to see the fall colors. Sherbrook Village also has a Christmas event that I have often thought about going to. It would be interesting to see the volunteers all dressed up for Christmas.
On the way home we did see a black bear beside the road, but since I was in the back seat I had no way to get a photo.
