Common red soldier beetles

I've never noticed these before. I see from this website https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explorer/invertebrates/beetles/common-red-soldier-beetle
that the adults spend much of their lives mating!
These were on the banks of the Duntreath Ponds. I was surprised and delighted to find that the swans still have nine cygnets. see the extras. There were lots of bright blue damsel flies but they were shooting around too quickly even for a video.
