Amandine's Plot Treize

Cutting bed

This doesn't look like much under the thin layer of woodchips but there's lots happening here.

This is a temporary bed. The base is a sowing of phacelia, interpersed with self-seeded 'Verbena bonariensis' and 'Erigeron karviniskianus' young plants.

The ground has been soaked through. I expect new shoots will spring up through the mulch by the end of the month, and I'm hoping for flowers by the end of the growing season.

It's a temporary bed for new plants I'm making from self-seeders. Come the autumn, when I finally get on with my new composting bay, I'll have to find a place for them to grow stronger roots into.
