Day 186/23. Cragside.

Probably the best National Trust property we have visited (and we have been here before).
Cragside is the historic home of William George Armstrong, A visionary inventor, an engineer and a businessman who bestrode the 19th Century like a colossus.
He formed the Elswick Works on the north bank of the River Tyne, at one time employing 25,000 people in the manufacture of cranes, ships and armaments.
A fascinating place to visit.
