Bloomin' beautiful!

I planted more flowers in pots than usual this year to attract butterflies and bees. The Calendula are just starting to bloom and I love them! We've seen very few butterflies and bees so far, a bit worrisome.
Happy Canada Day to all the Canadian blippers! I feel so fortunate that G and I are the stewards of a beautiful part of Canada. I love living here, and we're both happy that our parents chose BC when they decided to settle here. I'm sure that we would have done well in our home countries of Scotland and Italy - but then we wouldn't have met! 
We decided not to take in any of the Canada Day celebrations and had a visit with Bill and his sister instead. He finishes his treatments next week and is looking forward to that for sure. We sat out in the garden for the first time and enjoyed coffee, apple pie with cheese for those of us who like that combination, and some BC cherries. The apple pie was not homemade.  :-)
