All the fun of the fair!!

Up to Barrhead for the local gala parade and show. Wide selection of possible events today but decided to go to the nearest and we were not disappointed. There was a parade led by a fire engine, a brass band and then floats representing primary schools, dance schools and voluntary groups. The gala queen was driven by in an open car escorted by the local cadet corps under the stern eye of their sergeant.

There were shows in the park and no way would you get me up in one of those or indeed the waltzers. There were various stalls for good causes and all in all a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours on a summer Saturday in June.
