Silver Washed Fritillary

This morning I did a lovely walk with G across Kelling Heath to Weybourne station where we had a cuppa before returning. I was so pleased to see my first silver-washed fritillary of the year, looking in pristine condition. I've just read that they like the colour orange, good job I haven't any orange t-shirts!  It was a much cooler temperature, perfect for walking. More tennis watching this afternoon, plus some admin.

Covid Update
The column by Dr Michael Mosely in the Mail last Saturday reported on the recently published results of a Human Challenge Trial conducted by the Royal Free Hospital in London. In Feb 2021 healthy volunteers were exposed to Covid (live viruses squirted up the nose) and carefully monitored. Only half got infected, which suggests that the others already had some form of prior immunity. None of those infected became particularly ill, but 2 became 'super spreaders' where they coughed or sneezed out vastly more virus particles than anyone else. After infection, the virus is found mainly in their nose, showing that masks need to cover the nose to be effective. LFTs were found to be reliable when taken after symptoms appeared and the person was infectious. Covid particles were emitted into the air and on to surfaces. Another study has recently shown that you can catch Covid after touching such surfaces. Well done those very brave volunteers.
