Day out to Clevedon

After a bumpy week in our Retirement Village we decided to go to the coast  for a change of scenery.

Only a couple of miles in to our journey and we we were confronted with the aftermath of a lorry crash. When we came back they were still trying to clear up and retrieve the load. Traffic was very heavy in both directions on the M5 and it was not even the start of the main holiday rush to the West Country.

It was overcast, wet and windy but was fun to become reacquainted with a place we had not visited in almost 30 years.

The Blip really needs no introduction. We had hoped to be able to go on the Pier but they were filming and so the Pier was closed.

So off we went along Poet’s Walk to St Andrew’s Church. A lovely setting overlooking the Bristol Channel.

Tonight there is a barbecue at the Village Hall which we are looking forward to.

Another Bowls match for tomorrow has been cancelled which is a shame.

Have a good weekend.
