FROM AMANDA'S GARDEN

You will remember that we went to see Amanda yesterday, and we had to have a wander around her garden.  She has always worked so hard to make it look good so that David could look out on it from his seat on the sofa and she has certainly succeeded in doing that.

Mr. HCB was impressed with the sweetpeas that were in some hanging baskets quite near to the house, obviously placed so that David could see and even smell the beautiful perfume.  There were some on a little vase on a nearby table, but when Mr. HCB said how lovely they looked and then I said how much I liked sweetpeas, she immediately got some scissors and picked some for me.  It was so  kind of her and my Blip today is in honour of Amanda and all those who care for loved ones without any thought for themselves!

Amanda did ask me to say thank you to you all for the lovely comments yesterday - she says she is grateful for all the friends who are helping her,  during this difficult time following David’s death last week, including Blip friends because they are helping her to know it’s OK to still smile and laugh, even when it hurts so much inside.

And that’s the beauty of this wonderful community - it is not judgemental, nor is it critical in any way, but it is a truly caring community and many friendships are made here.

This quote is so appropriate - and if you have read any of my previous Blips, you will know why!

“There’s nothing better than a friend -
unless it’s a friend with chocolate!”
Anon - and Mrs. HCB

P.S.  Just a shout-out to my lovely nephew, Craig - see the extra - who is a painter and decorator and who has just decorated our kitchen - he’s done a fabulous job - something I used to do myself, but I’m happy we know someone like him who can do the job for us.  Now all we need to do is de-clutter the pots and pans we don’t need from the cupboards and drawers so we can keep the worktops clear!
