Assortment

D had to leave before the sparrows were even awake, let alone farting - an early departure from Granton Harbour due to the bird people needing to go to Inchkeith again. So I headed up to the allotment which we hadn't visited for 4 days, due to weather and other stuff, and it was looking extremely......lush. Fed the blighters, fed the courgettes and squashes (no need to water!) and hacked at some of the encroaching grass/weeds. Nothing much in the way of crops yet.

Clockwise from top left:
Was very pleased to see that the yellow loosestrife (love that name!) has finally migrated from across the track, very considerate of it to come up in the, erm, wildflower area.
A decent little crop of wheat courtesy of the sparrows, beneath the bird feeders - they don't seem to like (or can't cope with) wheat grains, which are all to common particularly in cheap seed mixes.
First pickings of the perennial sweet peas.
The rambling rose that I bought cheap in Woolworths in Leith....a long time ago is finally putting out flowers. Once they open out they have a faint, delicate scent.
