I noticed that some cars parked outside had had notices attached to their windscreens - the new parking regulations came in to force on Monday (residents permits, or pay), but the nice man who hand delivered our visitors parking permits said that enforcement would be 'light touch' for the first week.

Went to the opticians to see if they could improve the focus of my new specs (adjusting position on face etc). Maybe a bit better, but still not as good as the old ones!
