Day Twelve

Clue:  One of the seasons indicating an underwater ridge and lighthouse.

A day of mixed weather again, poor light and visibility for photo-taking,  starting with rain and ending in a deluge of biblical proportions with attendant thunder and lightening!!

The car roof was down for almost all the day except for the last eight miles - we watched the sky, saw the lightening and heard the cracks of thunder.   As we were on a freeway no chance of stopping to put the roof up - fingers crossed, we accelerated to our junction and immediately pulled over and set the roof a-moving - just as I locked it in place - WHOOSH - down came the rain.  Lucky lucky.

Earlier we had seen a fox streak across the road in front of us but, due to the fact that we had earlier pulled out of a car park in front of a cannabis shop, pipersmom swore it was a lemur - I'm sure the fumes from the shop had had an effect!   :o))   (it was a fox)  -  for the next few miles we giggled like idiots thinking of a lemur running across the road in New England.

The clue today is directed toward the main photo - in the extras another lighthouse, a yacht, a bendy tree and a flamboyance of flamingos - sadly all plastic (I didn't let pipersmom take a second look in case she thought they were real pink peacocks or some-such other fanciful bird!!  Just kidding, Elaine x )

We arrived at our hotel around six (still torrential rain) and got soaked getting the bags into our rooms.   As we left an hour or so later, for a meal, we could hear "sounds"  -  we saw many ducks and thought possibly whistling ducks but, on our return, we stopped by the water in the grounds again, ducks gone and even more noise - we've decided it was frogs.   Noisy little devils but lovely to hear (in my opinion).

Another lovely day with lots of fun and laughter ...............
