It’s the end of the world as we know it.

Fisterra, Cape Finisterre , North Western Spain.
Actually this beach is just around the corner from the farthest point which features in the extra .
This is Praia do Mar de Fóra. A most beautiful unspoiled pristine stretch of beach, unfortunately not suitable for bathing because it’s dangerously sloping and rough. Beautiful to sit on for a while though. We cycled round the Cape and enjoyed seeing the village of Fisterra, then up to the end of the peninsula, where lots of “ pilgrims” had reached the end of the land.
Extra. There were some musicians including the man playing what I assume are Spanish bagpipes. An old boat in the harbour, some ceramic tiles depicting the Camino, the waves in the rocks at the tip, very like Lands End Cornwall.

I was astonished when I saw that AmandoAlantejo said that the smoke from the Canadian wildfires was causing red sunsets in Portugal. A quick google investigation confirms that it is indeed billowing over this part of Europe. It explains the haziness we’ve been seeing the last couple of days. This morning it was particularly noticeable. A bit clearer this evening.
