A bum shot

Out through the gate into the orchard and a slow walk up the slope hoping to see marbled white or skipper butterflies, without success.  Down beside the school, across the road and round the two playing fields, disturbing a family of moorhens on the pond.

A beautiful cocker spaniel sidled up to me as I was walking around the second playing field.  I love it when, after putting out my hand, it nudged it upwards, indicating it wanted its head stroked.  Always a smile-maker.

There were a few insects about but I decided on the hoverfly trying to decide which cornflower to land on.
