Venice - day 7

Backblipped on 27/6.  Decided to nip over to the Lido today as never been before. On the way we were surrounded by lots of small yachts near Salute - a lovely sight.
Wasn't sure what to expect at the Lido, and in my head I was imagining something like Blackpool.  Couldn't have been more wrong.  We had a lovely walk to the beach (quite a way as most parts were private beach clubs with quite a hefty entrance fee, but they did have lovely little cabins for changing etc).  Lots of cafes and bars at much lower prices than in Venice of course.  The residential areas were lovely and very quiet.  I imagine the prices are lower than the city too, where a small apartment can cost 1 to 2 million euros and rentals are 1500 to 2500 euros a month! My main image is one of the lovely houses we passed (a few more photos in extras) - it is a private home, but also takes in guests for B&B.  Back into Venice for a change of clothes and evening meal.  The meals here are costing around 100 euros per night, so definitely a costly holiday.  The standard of food is amazing though!
