Hello Glastonbury!
Today we had Sunday tickets for the Glastonbury Festival, only the second time we have been there - the last was at least over 15 years ago!
Chris has had tickets for the whole event and met us at the entrance. We spent the morning touring the site , which is enormous. The main blip shows us at the iconic sign on the hill at the far end of the site.
We called in at the seaside-style pier, the circus tent, Carhenge (in extras) and the Avalon Stage, where we watched the set by N’Famady Kouyate, the jazz-funk xylophone player and his band who were brilliant (see extra) and spent the afternoon and evening high up on the hill in front of The Pyramid Stage. The crowd was enormous by the time Elton John played his set - I’ve never seen so many people! (See extra). The other extra is of the firework display at the end of his set, courtesy of Chris.
It really was a wonderful experience (despite the toilets!), although by the time we got home at 1.30 in the morning we felt in desperate need of a shower!
