The one that got away
A day spent tidying up the garden after its week of neglect. Huge crop of broad beans and gooseberries to harvest. A week ago I foolishly thought that I'd removed all the Scarlet Lilly beetle larvae from my pot lilies. I was wrong and have spent more time tackling them.
On my morning walk with the spaniel I saw a patch of bramble with upwards of a hundred Small Skippers darting around it. I've never seen so many together in one spot. I also had to take the spaniel to the vet today. It seems that age is finally catching up on him and he is developing arthritis in several joints. He has been prescribed meloxaid to help alleviate inflammation and pain.
