The Emperor

Not a busy day today. I took a break from hospital visiting because I really needed one to be honest. I did say to my Dad yesterday that I may not go today and he was fine with that.

I have done yoga, had a shower and cleared down my emails. We listened to radio commentary of Wigan Warriors' Super League game away at Salford. The commentators were not very good today (Usually they are decent!) - they seemed obsessed with whether or not it would rain and a clock which seemed to be counting down in a very random way. Also they persistently used the phrase "Ice the game" meaning to get it won.

It was quite a good game too, if you are a Wigan fan! The first half was pretty close but Wigan won 26-6 in the end! I wish we could have gone as it is always a good atmosphere away at Salford, but booking anything in advance is not realistic until things with my Dad are more settled.

After the game we decided to go out to find Blips at Snakeholme Pit Nature Reserve. There were lots of insect life to see, including Common Blue, Meadow Brown, Comma and Red Admiral butterflies; Lattice Heath and 6-Spotted Burnet moths, and 4-Spotted Chaser and Emporer Dragonflies.

I'm Blipping the Emperor as I have never seen one before! And I was lucky to be able to get a photo of it as it was so active!

After this we called to Maccie D's for tea as we were too hot to cook at home. While we were in there it threw it down with rain - I wonder if it will be less muggy now...
