The son shone

... as did the daughter-in-law and darling little Bug Pugglesworth. They're on their way home now, but we all enjoyed the weekend, shared with the local branch of the family, too. Gosh, it's been hot, though, and very close.

This is the side bit of our garden, the view outside our bedroom window. Oh, yes! It does include a few poppies (!) and roses, and more. I look at it and think, that would be the size of their whole garden for many peeps - and lovely it is, too. But it reinforces the realisation that it's not for nothing that we can't keep on top of the gardening. But we're doing enough to keep it OK. Our son opined it was like being on holiday sitting in our garden. I agree, though it lacks the groundsmen quietly hoeing and wheelbarrowing in the background! ;-)

That said, our green bin is outside the gate, ready for the morning collection, filled to the brim. We do keep at it. And we do appreciate our good fortune and our lovely views.

Meanwhile, indoors, we're enjoying cut sweet peas - homegrown! See my Extra.
