Red Deer

In our local area we have three species of deer.  This is a Red Deer. Not the most common but we do see them, as here, from some of the hides at the RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve.

The most commonly seen is the Roe Deer. Indeed these come into gardens and are very fond of Geranium flowers.

The third variety is the Fallow Deer. There is a large herd kept in a local deer park but from time to time we see a smaller group which have escaped and live in the wild.
