Splash! (Parc André Citroen)
A gorgeous, sunny day. I started it out by listening to a conference paper given by a former Crossways student, now doing a PhD at CUNY, at the Bilipo (Bibliothèque de littérature policière) on rue Cardinal Lemoine. Her paper was very good and we were able to get caught up a little before and after. Then I ran some errands in the 6th, headed home for a quick lunch, and met up with a Canadian colleague and friend, K, who is here for a conference that starts later on this week. We enjoyed seeing all of the activity in parc André Citroen. Kids were cooling off in the fountains (see blip) and there were lots of birthday parties and family gatherings. Later we got some Vittel-menthes at a café near the park. Really great to see her!
Our 18 year-old guests have learned how to get around the city on trottinettes and electric bikes. Today they went to the Musée d'Orsay. They've just climbed back up our six floors - the elevator has been broken since they arrived on Thursday! - to rest a bit before heading out again later on tonight.
