I have the washing gods to thank for the 10 minutes it took to peg it out before driving to Mahon for a supermarket shop. This had only just happened, so we could have got caught up in it worse than just a shortish delay. I waited till the next day to post this after checking the details in the local paper, just in case there was a fatality, which would not have been a good picture to post. The only casualty was a 45 year old woman who somehow flipped the car on a busy and twisty road with ditches and embankments either side, and she wasn't badly hurt. Silly season has arrived now - accidents each day to be expected. 500 flights in due over the weekend, and ferries from the mainland and other islands full of youths anticipating the huge booze-fest which is the festival of San Joan in Ciudadella.
