Remembering the Tolpuddle Martyrs at Glastonbury

We didn't arrive  until early evening and after sorting out the tents, beds and the rest of the stuff we brought we eventually went off for a bite to eat and to renew acquaintance with the Glastonbury site. On of the first areas we came upon was The Woods which is decorated with fairy lights and at the entrance has this sign commemorating the Tolpuddle Martyrs. I studied for my degree at what is now Bournemouth University and on my 21st birthday, St Patrick's Day 1971, went on an Association of Radical Students coach outing to Tolpuddle. I did have a more conventional 21st party back home in Swanley the following weekend. The extra photo is of the Woodsies stage, which is the new name for the John Perl stage. It's good to be back!
