Ruddy Gill

It was my turn to lead our second walk for our members of our group.  It was billed as an easy walk of around 6 miles.  This does not take any account of the climbs, which, although not steep in comparison to some,  are still an effort for some less able members of our group.

We started in sunshine but as we climbed up toward Styhead Tarn we walked into a low cloud base which persisted until we started our descent down Ruddy Gill, just after the delightfully named Sprinkling Tarn.

Those that joined us really enjoyed the walk and everyone went away happy, which was the object of the exercise!

This image is taken at the top of Ruddy Gill, at the start of the long descent.
