Poppies And The Prison

After some welcome heavy rain this morning we decided to walk up to the wildflower meadow this afternoon, having forgotten all about its existence this year. I was hoping for some poppies for the red Wide Wednesday theme, but it was disappointing, being mainly daisies. The field behind the prison was full of poppies though, so we retraced our steps and got in amongst them. The blip was straight out of camera, apart from a slight crop and a bit of extra contrast.

We may have popped into the prison café afterwards, though we just had drinks as the cakes didn't look all that appealing. Before setting off for home I took a few more shots of 'wheels' in the carriage display there, with our camera club summer competition in mind.
