Not Just Any Old Plane
We had no place to go and nothing to do so we got up, sat under the trees and read for awhile. The forecast calls for rain and storms starting Wednesday and continuing through the end of our stay so we will make the most of the sunshine. Our camp site is right next to one of Dover’s runways. We happened to see a plane coming in for a landing so I grabbed my phone. Voila - blip done for the day. Hubby made us a great brunch: country sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit and coffee. Next we drove around the base looking for someplace to get rid of our recycling. Otherwise, we’ve read, napped and enjoyed the birdsong out in the shady breeze. I actually had to wrap up in my blanket later in the day but that is so much better than unbearable heat. Many of our “neighbors” have left the campground so we are enjoying even more privacy. Well, except the three helicopters that flew directly over our camper about an hour after the large plane landed. All in a day’s adventure while camping at a Dover Air Force base. Hope your day has been as interesting. Be safe. Thanks for the visit. “I have to say that flying on Air Force One sort of spoils you for coach on a regular airline.” - Ron Reagan
