The Same But Different
We arrived at the sports complex just as the first game started. Our boys played their hearts out but we lost 7-6. It was a nail biter as the lead went back and forth between the two teams. I prefer excitement over a wide margin win. We had an hour break before game two which we won 7-3. Parker had some well played offensive and defensive moves as a midfielder. We came in third place overall. The boys would have preferred to be the champs but we were thrilled with their weekend performance. There are 12 regulation fields at the complex and there were games being played on each one all day both days. The facilities were great. The only complaint was concession prices: as an example, $4.50 for a candy bar. They could have sold a lot more if they’d reasonably priced stuff. My son’s family headed home and we came back to the campground to eat lunch and visit with Millie. There is just enough breeze here to be perfectly pleasant outside. And that’s where we’ve stayed, reading, napping, and enjoying life. It’s Father’s Day. My son’s family gave hubby a very nice BBQ set for the camper. I could have used the fork for the roast we had Friday. Guess that’s the first large piece of meat I’ve cooked while camping. Sure hope you enjoyed your weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by, giving the stars and birthday wishes. Hubby found a wonderful diner last night. We brought home enough for another meal and it was delicious. “The rewards are going to come, but my happiness is just loving the sport and having fun performing.” - Jackie Joyner-Kersee
