Newly-weds
Wiebke and Paul got married today - hurrah!
It was wonderful to be invited to join in all the celebrations at the Bellfield Hall in Portobello. Weddings are always lots of fun when you share many mutual friends with the bridal party, as was the case for us today.
It was quite an emotional day for us all. For example, Wiebke herself was close to tears at the start of the ceremony so that nearly set off the rest of us, and our little band of girlfriends missed Eliza's presence. The speeches were very funny so had us in gales of laughter, especially if you could speak both English and German. Another funny-peculiar aspect of the day was that I was mistaken for the mother of the photographer (our friend Andy is only a few years younger than me), and another friend was asked if she was mother-of-the-groom (also close to her in age)!
We took loads of photos over the course of the day. Why those snapped at the start of the afternoon are so much sharper than the silly dancing shots towards the end of the evening, I really have no idea....
My blip is of the newly-weds as they came out into the open under a shower of confetti after the ceremony. Top guests Jon, Mr hazelh, myself, nadinepierce, and Dr S feature in the extra. (And if you would like to see a shot of the dancing, head over to nadinepierce's entry for today.)
Exercise today: walking and dancing (18,737 steps).
