Fair Sabrina and the Old Hall

A last look at the River Severn as we left Cressage this morning. The commanding position of the Old Hall is clearly shown. And there are two fishermen. I believe today was the first day of the coarse fishing season. I’ve included the view from the other side of the bridge. It’s a classic Shropshire view all be it not in the best of light.

Before heading south we set off north to Annscroft to pay a visit to my cousin’s husband Ian who lives in his own now that his wife is in care with Alzheimer’s.

The journey south was as good as could be expected. We dodged bands of heavy storms with the exception of a short torrential downpour near Northampton and the forecast storms in Kent were just a dribble - until we went out this evening for a stroll when we were caught in a heavy shower and, despite having umbrellas, we took refuge in a bus shelter.

Thank you for your dogged determination to visit my journal while we’ve been away. I hope that my normal service will be resumed from tomorrow.
