Father's Day

It's Father's Day in the USA, and Seth is in Oslo, Norway with Guns 'N Roses. Evan and Bella asked me to wake them at 7a.m. so they could call him while he's not at work. It was 4 p.m. in Oslo. He usually starts preparations at 5 p.m., but as it happened, it was a day off for him, so he was in his hotel room. He showed them all around his room (very luxurious, with a lovely leather reclining chair). He showed them Oslo, out the window. He said the crew travels on private jets, and when they walk through airports on the way, they're all big guys dressed in black, and people stare. Some have the courage to ask questions, and he said they just answer, "We're Roadies." Bella told him about the swimming pool yesterday, and Evan showed him his infected finger.

Last night their mom Facetimed from Philadelphia and told a long, harrowing story about her ride with the rest of the crew for Maxwell in a fancy van (reclining chairs) from Connecticut to Philadelphia Saturday morning--their driver seemed to be out of his mind, driving insanely fast through heavy traffic, making abrupt turns, crossing multiple lanes of traffic.  When they got to their destination, their driver took off his sunglasses and they saw he had only one eye and was legally blind. None of them knew why he was driving! They all survived, but one of them had been thrown on the floor and needed chiropractic care, and they all decided to charge the transport company for massages.

Sunday morning, Father's Day, 2023.
