Summer storms . A hot muggy start to the day with a sociable parkrun . It was quieter than usual as Basil can’t see his adversaries to bark at , in particular Anya the Rottweiler! Liz came back for coffee and update, she’s my main source of village info !
A wild stormy afternoon with full on thunder and lightening full about an hour . Riding cancelled and all the hifi and computers unplugged , there were people and buildings struck yesterday . Instead I read a book in the middle of the day while it chucked it down , and really enjoyed it
Went to the stables in full on sunshine and within 10 mins another full on storm with the most phenomenal rain . Mike got soaked - came home and had a hot choc and went for a bath !
Watched the film Nomadland. So thought provoking and very authentic feeling , lots of bits of people I know or have met through the years and of course parts of ourselves to identify with .
Last dog walk of the day and we were treated to a lovely sunset and a pair of Linnets chirruping away , they were beautiful, very soft and gentle bird song . They just look like yet another small brown bird in the photo, but they have a distinctive blush pinky/ reddish chest and when they flew around us they dipped up and down like little rollercoasters . Magical.
